Top 10 Tips for a Child’s Psychological Health

As parents, we all are concerned about the physical health of our children and we take every care to see that they do well and remain healthy. But, many of us are not serious about the psychological health of our child, which is equally, or even more important than the physical health, as it effects the overall development of the child. Children, who are psychologically healthy, lead a good social life; they have good thinking capabilities and can easily learn and acquire new skills that are required for their development.

But what are the ways to keep them psychologically healthy? Let us look at them.

  1. Children should be always be encouraged, let it be at home or at school.
  2. Children should feel that they are safe and secure.
  3. Parents should make sure that the child develops self-confidence and self- esteem.
  4. Children should be allowed to mingle and play with other children of their age and the children in their surroundings.
  5. Children should always be guided and disciplined by elders.
  6. Children should always receive unconditional love from parents and others in the family.
  7. Parents should allow children to watch only limited and healthy contents on television.
  8. Children should not feel that going to school as a burden, instead should feel excited about it. It is our responsibility to make sure that they are given such an environment.
  9. Criticism should be limited to child’s behavior alone, and he is to be corrected.
  10. If they are doing something wrong, it is important to let them know what they are doing and what will be the consequences.

So, take care of these aspects and see your kid is growing as a psychologically healthy and active child.
