Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 8- Ver. 20:
However, above that (other) unmanifest, there exists another supreme, eternal unmanifest, which is unaffected by the destruction of all entities.
Explanation
Shree Krishna has so far disclosed the material worlds and their transient character. He now begins to describe the everlasting spiritual realm, which He claims is beyond these earthly worlds. In the creation cycle, the spiritual realm does not disintegrate with the material realms. Yogamaya, God’s spiritual energy, creates the eternal world.
Verse & what we can learn
All living and non-living beings go into a state of suspended animation after which they come back into manifest mode for. But there is one more thing. Only few escape this cycle who are liberated.
There is something that exists outside of this cycle of creation and dissolution, something that exists outside of time and space. To put it another way, everything in this world is impermanent and will eventually end in sadness.
We will never know that there is something beyond our materialistic desires unless we realise that whatever we assume would bring us happiness is liable to destruction sooner or later.
To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.
There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.
In the Next verse, Shri Krishna explains Arjuna What does “another unmanifest” mean exactly?
