Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 11- Ver. 50:

After saying this to Arjuna, Vaasudeva assumed his form and calmed the terrified one.

Explanation

Shree Krishna concealed his cosmic form and appeared to Arjun in his four-armed form, complete with a golden diadem, disc, mace, and lotus flower. It houses all divine opulences such as grandeur, omniscience, and omnipotence, among others. Shree Krishna’s four-armed figure elicits feelings of awe and veneration, similar to how residents of a nation feel toward their ruler.

Arjuna, on the other hand, was a Shree Krishna sakha (friend), and devotion dominated by feelings of awe and reverence would never satisfy him. Shree Krishna had played with him, eaten with him, confided in him, and shared loving personal moments with him. a Such happy sakhya bhava(devotion in which God is regarded as a close friend) devotion is immeasurably sweeter than aihwarya bhakti devotion (devotion where God is revered as the distant and almighty Lord). As a result, Shree Krishna ultimately disguised his four-armed appearance and converted into his original two-armed form to satisfy Arjuna’s love.

Verse & what we can learn

Shri Krishna adopted his terrible cosmic shape, then his four-armed form, and finally the delightful two-armed form that Arjuna knew and loved in this shloka, which Sanjaya introduced in the commentary. Shri Krishna wielded a whip in one hand and the chariot reins in the other. He pacified Arjuna and ensured that his state of mind returned to normal, just as a father scolds his children and instantly pacifies them.
