Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 11- Ver. 51:
I have now restored my composure and reached my actual essence, seeing this, your pleasant human form, O Janaardana.
Explanation
Arjun’s sakhya bhava was reinforced and strengthened when he saw Shree Krishna in his magnificent two-armed form. Arjun claims to have regained his composure and returned to normal. The celestial sage Narada had previously advised Arjun’s elder brother, Arjuna became accustomed to interacting with the Lord as a brother and friend.
Verse & what we can learn
When Arjuna saw Shri Krishna in his human form, he returned to his original state, devoid of the fear and befuddlement that came with the cosmic form. Janaardana translates as “one who transports individuals to heaven or hell,” or “one who administers justice to evildoers.” Another meaning of Janaardana is a person that people pray to for success and happiness.
Arjuna recalled the splendour of his human body by addressing Shri Krishna as Janaardana, a phrase he used to address Shri Krishna before he realized he was Ishvara. So far, we’ve seen Arjuna ask Shri Krishna for the cosmic form, Arjuna’s description of the cosmic form and his reaction to it, and Arjuna’s plea to return to the human form.
