Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 11- Ver. 43:

You are the father of this universe, of everything that moves and does not move. You are the best teacher among teachers and most deserving of adoration. Nobody compares to you. How could anyone be better than you in all three spheres, O gigantic influencer?

Explanation

In this shloka, Arjuna discusses the qualities of a perfect parent. Any parent should certainly provide their children with physical and emotional nutrition. Ideal parents, on the other hand, become their children’s greatest gurus and teachers. Only when parents inculcate the proper knowledge and values in their children can they earn the right to be worshipped. Ishvara is the ideal parent in terms of symbolism since he is the ultimate cause of this cosmos, which is made up of conscious and inanimate objects.

Shree Krishna, according to Arjuna, is the greatest and most senior. Shree Krishna is the father of all the fathers in the universe. He is also the spiritual master of the spiritual master… of all of the spiritual masters present.

The creator Brahma was the first spiritual master, who passed on his wisdom to his disciple, and so on. Brahma, on the other hand, gained Vedic knowledge through Shree Krishna. Shree Krishna transmitted Vedic knowledge into the heart of the first-born Brahma; As a result, he is the ultimate spiritual master.

Nobody can compare to God, and no one can surpass him. Arjuna recognizes Shree Krishna as the same Supreme Lord of the Vedas and declares the aforementioned qualities about him.

Verse & what we can learn

For their children, ideal parents become the greatest gurus, the greatest teachers. Only when parents inculcate the proper knowledge and values in their children can they earn the right to be worshipped. Ishvara is also referred to as the ultimate overlord of the three planets by Arjuna. These three worlds are traditionally thought to relate to heaven, hell, and earth.

The three worlds can also refer to the three states in which we exist. During the day, we are awake and our mind, logic, and reasoning faculties are functioning. We enter our dream state at night, where our brain is turned off but our imagination generates entirely new dream worlds.

Even though we go through all three stages on a regular basis, the feeling that “I exist” is widespread. In this shloka, Arjuna says that Ishvara is present in all three stages of awake, dreaming, and deep sleep as the “I am” principle. Arjuna surrenders his ego to this great entity by saying that there is nothing else in the cosmos like Ishvara.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There is also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the next shloka Arjuna asks for forgiveness to Shri Krishna.
