Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 11- Ver. 12:

If thousands of suns rose in the sky at the same time, their blazing would be similar to that of that spectacular one.

Explanation

Sanjaya now describes the universal form’s radiance. He compares it to millions of suns blazing concurrently in the midday sky to provide a notion of its brilliant luminosity. Actually, God’s brilliance is limitless; it can’t be measured in terms of the sun’s brilliance. However, narrators frequently extrapolate from the known to convey the unknown. Sanjay’s view of the beauty of the cosmic shape with no analogies was described by the metaphor of a thousand suns.

Verse & what we can learn

Sanjaya compares the eternal essence to the light emitted by an unlimited number of suns rising at the same time to give us a better picture of the amount of cosmic form’s brightness. “Effulgent limitless being” is how it’s characterized. Because the material world obscures it, we never get to experience it. In this situation, Shri Krishna permitted Arjuna to glimpse the everlasting essence in its purest form, which was unlimited light and radiance.
Sanjaya’s comparison is useful, but it contrasts two things that are difficult to compare. Even infinite suns’ brilliance is still a material world’s brilliance, however Ishvara’s brilliance is divine, far greater to any material brilliance.
