Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 1- Ver. 6: Duryodhana said: There are the strong Uttamauja, the son of Subhadra, and the sons of Draupadi, as well as the mighty Yudhamanyu. These soldiers are all excellent chariot fighters.
Explanation
They also have great warrior chiefs like the heroic Yudhamanyu, the brave Uttamauja, the son of Subhadra, and the sons of Draupadi in their ranks.
Reflection
Arjuna’s son Abhimanyu was skilled in destroying military formations. Due of how much Duryodhana hated Draupadi, her sons were also mentioned. We start to realize how interconnected the opposing sides were. Some were family members who took sides, some were formerly friends who changed their loyalties, and some, like Drona, were equally loving to both sides but were forced to pick one out of loyalty to the throne and the kingdom.
It serves as a reminder that life is constantly changing. A connection that brings you great joy today could, at some point, in a matter of seconds, morph into one that brings you great misery.
To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.
There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, and meditation for stress, and each meditation’s benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.
In the next verse, Duryodhana describes about the generals on the Kaurava’s side.
