Bhagavad Gita

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita: Sankhya Yogam: Chapter 2: Verse 25

BG 2. 25

Explanation

Lord Shri Krishna says to associate yourself with the everlasting essence (soul) rather than the body, Arjuna. It cannot be slaughtered or slain since the eternal nature is eternal and imperishable. As a result, do not be sad for the warriors of the opposing army who are about to die. Their bodies will perish regardless, so don’t be sad for something that will perish. You should not be concerned about the eternal essence that they share with you because it is indestructible. As a result, you have no reason to be sad.

Verse & What We Can Learn

The nature of the body is that it changes and perishes but the soul is beyond anything and everything and that is what “everyone & everything” is so there is no reason to be sorrowful.

In the next verse, we will see Lord Krishna showing Arjuna what he should be doing.
