Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 6- Ver. 28:
The self-controlled yogi, by merging his or her self with God, becomes free of material contamination and achieves the highest state of perfect delight by remaining in constant contact with the Supreme.
Explanation
Happiness that is saatvic is the pleasure derived by virtues such as compassion, service to others, knowledge cultivation, mental stillness, and so on. It involves the happiness of self-realization that the jnanis experience when their mind is stabilised on the soul.
Nirgua is a happyness is God’s divine happiness, which is limitless in scope. Shree Krishna states that the yogi who attains this highest degree of absolute delight by becoming free of material defilement and uniting with God.
Because he comes into contact with the timeless essence, a person who follows the step-by-step approach to meditation experiences unlimited love and happiness. Meditation can be done in a variety of ways, but in order to achieve the results indicated in this shloka, it is necessary to maintain a disciplined attitude.
The yogi must have maintained constant focus on the meditation practise without any flaws or faults. Meditation will not provide effects if the mind is still filled with impurities such as vaasanas and cravings. Meditation necessitates the purification of the mind. The ultimate happiness, is attained by contact with brahman, the eternal essence, as a result of meditation. “The yogi touches the brahman,” the literal phrase says. Infinite love and happiness are inherent in Brahman. Anyone who identifies with it experiences infinite joy.
Verse & what we can learn
The emphasis is on practicing consistency. There has been a constant thinking of body, mind, and intellect thus far. As a result, you’ve turned into matter. Using the same strategy of persevering thought you’ll have no trouble obtaining Brahman. Masters in their fields appear to achieve perfection with ease.
The hard work and effort had already been put in. Similarly, you readily attain Brahman at the end. The conflict is still in its early stages. Brahman is defined as an endless state of happiness. All of the joy you are experiencing right now is limited and will come to an end. It’s followed by sadness. Realisation grants you boundless bliss that never ends.
To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.
There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.
