Chapter 1: Verse 14

A Leader Under All Circumstances Needs to Be Enthusiastic & Fearless

तत: श्वेतैर्हयैर्युक्ते महति स्यन्दने स्थितौ |

माधव: पाण्डवश्चैव दिव्यौ शङ्खौ प्रदध्मतु: || 1.14||

tataḥ śhvetairhayairyukte mahati syandane sthitau

mādhavaḥ pāṇḍavaśhchaiva divyau śhaṅkhau pradadhmatuḥ

 Shloka Translation

 BG – Ch. 1- Ver. 14:

Then from the middle of the Pandava army seated in a beautiful chariot driven by white horses. Madhava and Arjuna blew their Divine conch shells.

Explanation

The army of the Kaurava had begun to quiet down. Then, from the Pandavas side, Madhava and Arjun mounted on a splendid chariot, each blew their conch shells boldly, igniting the Pandava army’s enthusiasm as well.

Verse & What we need to learn

Enthusiasm, a positive approach and a fearless state of mind under all circumstances are the greatest qualities of a Leader.

In the next verse, we will know the names of the conch shells blown by Pandavas.
