South Indian Bank Reinforces Workplace Safety Through Fire Mock Drill
Kochi, Sep 22: South Indian Bank conducted a fire safety mock drill at SIB Tower as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen workplace safety, emergency preparedness and employee well-being. The programme was jointly organised by the Facility Management Group of South Indian Bank, M/s National Safety Council and the State Fire and Rescue Services Department.
The fire safety training session was led by Mr. Nissam, Fire Officer from the State Fire and Rescue Services Department, and focused on equipping employees with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively during fire-related emergencies.
The programme covered key aspects of fire safety, including awareness of emergency situations and appropriate response procedures, proper use of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation protocols and designated fire escape routes. Employees were also briefed on the importance of timely reporting and coordinated action during emergencies.
As part of the exercise, a practical evacuation drill was conducted to assess employee preparedness and familiarise participants with emergency response procedures. The hands-on training provided employees with an opportunity to understand and practise appropriate safety measures in a simulated emergency situation.
The programme witnessed active participation from employees of SIB Tower and reinforced South Indian Bank’s commitment to fostering a safe and prepared workplace. Through such initiatives, the Bank continues to promote a culture of safety, awareness and collective responsibility among its employees.
