Kia India Expands Project D.R.O.P. Across NCR with On-Ground Rollout in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida
Ghaziabad, Aug 10: Kia India, one of the country’s mass-premium automobile manufacturers, has commenced the on-ground implementation of Phase IV of its flagship CSR initiative, Project D.R.O.P., in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida. Implemented in partnership with the Indian Pollution Control Association, the initiative aims to strengthen community-led plastic waste collection, recycling, and awareness across the National Capital Region.
With the rollout in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida, Project D.R.O.P. continues to expand its footprint across key cities in India, creating a structured ecosystem that promotes responsible plastic waste management through active participation from local communities, civic authorities, educational institutions, and waste management stakeholders. With the addition of these two cities, Project D.R.O.P. is now active across twelve cities – Gurugram, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Delhi, Noida, Ambala, Ghaziabad and Noida/Greater Noida—further strengthening its nationwide footprint.
The Ghaziabad launch was graced by Smt. Shilpa Chaudhary, Councillor, Vasundhara, Ward 61, as Chief Guest, along with Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Health Officer, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, as Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by Ms. Sunila Athley, Principal, Amity International School, Vasundhara, and Dr. Radha Goyal, Deputy Director, IPCA.
The Greater Noida launch was graced by Mr. Alok Kumar, General Manager, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority as Chief Guest. The event witnessed participation from Mr. Ajay Garg, Secretary, IPCA, Dr. Radha Goyal, Deputy Director, IPCA, senior GNIDA officials, Resident Welfare Associations, academic institutions, and other community stakeholders.
The programme marked the commencement of structured plastic waste collection and recycling activities through the installation of D.R.O.P. Community Bins and the flag-off of dedicated D.R.O.P. Collection Vehicles. To encourage community participation, the events also featured a street play highlighting the importance of responsible plastic waste management and sustainable disposal practices.

Project D.R.O.P. remains Kia India’s flagship environmental sustainability initiative, focused on promoting responsible plastic waste management through awareness, community participation, and strategic partnerships with civic bodies and local stakeholders.
