So, O Parth, if I did not properly do the specified responsibilities, all men would follow my path in every way.

Explanation

As the son of King Vasudeva, the foremost of the virtuous, Shree Krishna was acting as a king and a great leader. If Lord Krishna would not carry out the customary Vedic practises, many lesser individuals would follow in his footsteps, believing that breaking the rules was the norm. According to Lord Krishna, he would be responsible for guiding people astray.

If he ceased acting, everyone would become inert. That would be a catastrophe. Shri Krishna encouraged Arjuna to continually take action and not succumb to the human body’s natural tendency to become sluggish. If not for Arjuna’s sake, then for the sake of those who looked up to him as a hero. Similarly, Krishna encourages us to be role models by executing selfless acts with total focus and attentiveness on a regular basis.
