Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 3- Ver. 2:
Your confusing advice has perplexed my intellect. Please tell me the one path through which I can achieve the greatest good.
Explanation
Arjuna is a soldier who is used to following commands rather than pondering and contemplating. As a result, he prays to Krishna for specific directions on how to proceed. The wise pick the higher route that leads to eternal happiness. Arjuna aspires to the highest so he asks Krishna to show him the one route that leads to the highest objective of Self Realization.
Arjuna misread Shree Krishna’s intention, believing that since knowledge is better to action, then why should he carry out the dreadful task of fighting the war? “By offering contradicting assertions, you are perplexing my mind,” he says. I know you’re merciful and don’t want to perplex me, so please eliminate my scepticism.” He says.
