Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 7- Ver. 29:

Those who seek refuge in Me in order to be free of old age and death learn about the Brahman, the individual self, and the entire karmic domain.

Explanation

In verse 7.26, Shree Krishna stated that no one may know God just on the basis of their own intellect. In this verse, however, He claims that God can only be understood because of His grace. Those devotees who entirely surrender to Him obtain His divine grace.

Atma-jnana cannot be compared to brahma-jnana in any way. It can, nevertheless, be a beginning point for the absolute. Absolute knowledge, according to the Vedas, is God’s knowledge. Everything relating to God is revealed when you know Him, and all your ignorance vanishes.

According to Shree Krishna, people who seek His protection are forever free from the cycle of birth and death. They also get brahma-jnana, or knowledge of the Brahman, Atma-jnana, or knowledge of the self, and the complete field of karmic activity, or the divine rules of karma, through His divine grace.

So, what should the enlightened devotee know now? In this shloka, three technical concepts are mentioned: brahman, adhyaatma, and karma. In the seventh chapter’s next and last shloka, several more terms will be included.

Verse & what we can learn

Who is this ardent follower, exactly? Shri Krishna claims that it is that devotee who is striving. In other words, he is doing karma yoga to purify his mind and intellect so that he can meditate. This devotee, however, is not motivated by blind faith. He is a smart devotee, known as a jnaani.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the Next verse, Shri Krishna tells Arjuna about enlightened souls.
