Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 18- Ver. 75:

By the grace of Veda Vyasa, I received this ultimate and most secret Yoga directly from Shree Krishna, the Lord of Yoga.

Explanation

Sanjay’s spiritual leader was Sage Veda Vyasa, also known as Shree Krishna Dwaipayan Vyasadev. Sanjay had the gift of clairvoyance, which allowed him to be aware of all that was happening on the battlefield of Kurukshetra while he was sitting in the Hastinapur royal palace, thanks to the grace of his Guru. Sanjay admits that he only had the chance to hear Shree Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, speak about the ultimate science of Yoga because of the kindness of his Guru.

The author of the Brahma Sutras, the Puraanas, the Mahabharata, and other works, Veda Vyasa, was a descended being from God who possessed all clairvoyant abilities. As a result, he overheard both Sanjaya and Dhritarasthra’s talk as well as that between Shree Krishna and Arjuna. He incorporated both dialogues into the Bhagavad Gita as a result.

Verse & what we can learn

Sanjaya’s spiritual teacher was Vyasa, and Sanjaya acknowledges that it was only by his mercy that he was able to comprehend the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This indicates that one must comprehend Krishna through the spiritual master’s channel rather than directly. Despite the fact that the experience is direct, the spiritual master serves as a transparent mediator.

It is necessary to understand Krishna through the spiritual master rather than directly. Despite the fact that the experience is direct, the spiritual master serves as a transparent mediator. This is the disciplic succession’s mystery. One can hear the Bhagavad-gita directly, just as Arjuna did, if the spiritual master is genuine.

There are a lot of mystics and yogis in the world, but Krishna is the supreme authority of all schools of yoga. In Bhagavad-gita: Surrender unto Krishna, Krishna’s directive is made clear. The best yogi is the one who practices this. The sixth chapter’s final lyric reaffirms this. Yoginam is parsed.

The spiritual leader of Vyasa and a direct disciple of Krishna is Narada. Since Sanjaya is Vyasa’s direct disciple and he comes after him in the disciplic succession, Vyasa is therefore just as legitimate as Arjuna. As a result, thanks to Vyasa, he was able to directly see and hear Krishna because his senses had been made pure.

This secret information may only be understood by one who hears Krishna directly. One cannot hear Krishna without coming to the disciplic succession, hence his knowledge is never complete, at least in terms of comprehending the Bhagavad-gita.

All of the yoga systems, including karma, jnana, and bhakti yoga, are described in the Bhagavad-gita. All of this mysticism’s teacher is Krishna. But it must be recognized that, just as Arjuna had the good fortune to hear Krishna directly, Sanjaya, through the mercy of Vyasa, had the same opportunity.

Actually, there is no distinction between hearing from Krishna directly and hearing from Krishna through a genuine spiritual master like Vyasa. The spiritual teacher also serves as Vyasadeva’s representative. The Vedic tradition holds that the students perform a ritual known as Vyasa-puja on the spiritual master’s birthday.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There is also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the next shloka Sanjaya continues his talk.
