Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 18- Ver. 72:

O Arjuna, have you carefully listened to what I said? Have your false beliefs and ignorance been dispelled?

Explanation

Shree Krishna has assumed the role of Arjuna’s mentor. It is only natural for the teacher to ask the student if they understand the material. Shree Krishna wants Arjuna to know that if he doesn’t understand, he’s willing to repeat or provide more information.

Verse & what we can learn

The Upanishads, the sections of the Vedas that discuss the everlasting essence, have as their aim the revelation of the real self. We are all living in denial about who we really are. Because ignorance is a trait shared by all people, it affects everyone. We all want a qualified instructor who can communicate the wisdom of the Upanishads to us so that we might reclaim the knowledge of our self.

In order for Arjuna and all seekers in the future to eradicate their ignorance about their true identity as the self, Shri Krishna taught the Gita, which is also an Upanishad. To ensure that Arjuna could understand the Gita’s message, he used every strategy in the book, including logic, reasoning, scriptural authority, emotion, and psychology. After completing all of that, he still wanted to give Arjuna the option to express any remaining scepticism or queries about the instruction. Arjuna was also questioned about whether or not he had been paying attention when listing.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There is also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the next shloka Arjuna says that his ignorance has been dispelled.
