Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 18- Ver. 34:
However, O Arjuna, that fortitude by which one clings on to duty, sensual pleasure, and wealth while craving reward as the occasion arises, is raajasic, O Paartha.
Explanation
here are those who are determined outside of only yogis. People with a broader perspective also pursue their goals with a fierce determination. However, their desire to enjoy the results of their labours fuels their resolve. They are preoccupied with pursuing material success and other sensual pleasures. These people depend on money for their very survival because it is the way of attaining these things. According to Shree Krishna, passion is the style of drive that is fueled by the desire to reap rewards.
Verse & what we can learn
The four main objectives of a human life—dharma, artha, kaama, and moksha—are thought to be the pursuit of duty, sensual pleasure, wealth, and emancipation. Liberation as a goal lost its significance and even awareness over time. Most of us only work toward the first three objectives.
Raajasic dhriti, or raajasic fortitude, according to Shri Krishna, is the strength of will that enables us to pursue these three objectives. Raajasic is the term used to describe it since it is focused on achieving the desired outcome as well as the associated personal reward.
The Gita places a lot of emphasis on the mind because everything takes place at the level of the intellect and mind.
