Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 10- Ver. 21:
Vishnu is one of Aditi’s twelve sons, and the sun is one of the bright objects. Marichi among the maruts, and the moon among the stars in the night sky, is who I am.
Explanation
At night, all of the lamps, as well as all of the stars in the sky and the moon, are unable to dispel the night’s blackness. The night is gone as soon as the sun rises.” That is the sun’s force, which Shree Krishna manifests as his vibhti. Shree Krishna claims that he is the moon because it best reflects his opulence among all the constellations and stars in the night sky. According to Shree Krishna, his vibhti (opulence) expresses itself in the wind known as “Marichi.”
Verse & what we can learn
Vishnu is one of the Aadityaas, or Aditi’s sons. Dhaataa, Mitra, Aryamaa, Rudra, Varuna, Soorya, Bhaga, Vivasvaan, Poosha, Savitaa, Tvashtaa, and Vishnu were Aditi’s twelve sons. The Vaamana avatar is also referred to as Vishnu. Among all the luminous objects in the universe, Ishvara is “Ravi,” the sun. When we witness the sun’s brilliance, our thoughts should immediately turn to the strength of Ishvara who is blazing through it. And, just as Ishvara’s luminosity can be seen in the sun during the day, it can also be found in the moon at night.
