Shrimad Bhagavad Gita: Arjuna Vishada Yogam: Chapter 1: Verse 40

BG 1.40

Explanation

“What would happen to society without the direction and protection of elders?” Arjun grew concerned and began to grasp. It’s possible that the family’s women will be misled.” As a result, Arjun told Shree Krishna that if the family’s women become immoral and commit adultery, they will bear illegitimate children. This would not only harm future generations’ serenity and contentment, but it would also rob the ancestors of their Vedic ceremonies. Family customs will be abandoned, and society’s well-being will be at risk.
