Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 1- Ver. 14: Then from the middle of the Pandava army seated in a beautiful chariot driven by white horses. Madhava and Arjuna blew their Divine conch shells.
Explanation
The army of the Kaurava had begun to quiet down. The Supreme Lord Shree Krishna and Arjuna then blew their conch shells courageously from the Pandava side while mounted on a splendid chariot, igniting the fervour of the Pandava army as well.
Sanjaya is calling Lord Shree Krishna “Madhava” in this instance. According to this line, the goddess of prosperity was with the Pandavas and, in her favour, they would soon win this war and retake their empire.
Any of the five brothers may be referred to as Pandavas, the name given to the sons of King Pandu. Arjuna, the third of the five Pandavas, is the one being discussed in this verse. He was an excellent archer and a powerful warrior. Agni, the celestial deity of fire, had given him a splendid chariot as a gift.
Reflection
Arjuna was one of the five Pandava princes, and Lord Krishna was a celestial manifestation. Arjuna was regarded as the greatest warrior and archer of his time. Arjuna’s close friend Shri Krishna offered to drive his chariot during the Mahabharata war.
The army of the Kauravas, which was prepared to fight the Pandavas, was described in the verses before that.
