Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 5- Ver. 17:

Those whose intellect is set on God, who is entirely engaged in God, who have solid faith in Him as the ultimate aim, rapidly achieve a state from which there is no return, their sins being dispelled by the light of understanding.

Explanation

Shri Krishna represents the personality of a seeker whose desire for the eternal essence is so strong that it pervades all aspect of his being. His intellect, convictions, and goals are all in sync with eternal nature. Both the mind and the intellect must be convinced that the eternal essence is the sole objective worth pursuing, even if the eternal essence has not yet been achieved.

The entire personality is orientated towards the eternal essence only when the mind and intellect are convinced. He transcends all duality, including the concept of sins and demerits, once he understands the eternal essence. Because all conceptions of duality have vanished, Shri Krishna refers to it as the “state from which there is no return.”
The state of non-return is described as realisation. Similarly, once you reach the plane of Consciousness and experience unlimited Bliss, you will never be able to return to the realm of finitude and servitude. To reach there, you must devote your entire life to Atman. You must live in the thought of Atman, breathe Atman, think Atman, love Atman, and live in the concept of Atman. There must be a synergy between the mind and the intellect. In and via your daily, monotonous occupations, the mind surrenders to Atman, and the intellect continuously thinks of Atman.
