Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 4- Ver. 40:

Ignorant One, without faith, and constantly doubts is ruined. A person who is continually doubting will never find peace in this world or any other one.

Explanation

Shri Krishna describes the impediments to our reaching such knowledge. There are three major impediments: ignorance, a lack of faith, and a persistent sense of doubt. It is this ignorance that becomes an impediment to the self-realization of knowledge. This truth will never be fully realised by someone who lacks trust. Until we obtain knowledge of self-realization, we must have faith in the scriptures, our instructor, ourselves, and the everlasting essence’s truth.

It will be tough for a person who doubts everything to obtain knowledge. To be sure, scepticism and inquiry are essential. Spiritual gurus encourage it. Constant doubting, on the other hand, without making an effort to answer such doubts, will become a major impediment to spiritual awareness.

Shri Krishna also claims that continuous doubt is more than an impediment to spiritual progress. It also makes it impossible for us to live peacefully in the physical world.
