Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 5- Ver. 14:

God does not create the experience of doership or the nature of activities, nor does He create the results of deeds. The forms of material nature (guas) play a role in all of this.

Explanation

There is no doership in Atman. You lose your sense of doership, which is a sort of ego, as you grow spiritually. Atman is a passive entity. Vasanas are responsible for actions. The product of activity has nothing to do with Atman. It has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the action or the outcome of the activity.

Nature expresses itself. The individual is Divine. The fault is in the accumulation or covering. Although the individual is still alive, he or she has become Realized. Like a river joining the sea, the individual unites with the whole. You take on the role of the all-pervading Reality.

The eternal essence exists outside of time and space. The everlasting essence exists independently of action. Any self-contained system has its own set of rules that control how it works. One who views the universe from the absolute perspective of eternal essence understands that there is no action in actuality. Only from the perspective of nature, or prakriti, does action exist. And if action, doership, enjoyership, and the connection of actions to their outcomes are only found in nature, then so are doership, enjoyership, and the connection of actions to their outcomes. It’s a self-contained, self-regulating system.

Verse & what we can learn

The soul is responsible for the surrender of the notion of doership. The soul identifies with the body and becomes implicated as the doer of deeds due to ignorance.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.
