Material Energy Is Insensible In And Of Itself When It Receives Divine Inspiration, However, It Begins To Behave As If It Were A Conscious Being

न च मां तानि कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय |
उदासीनवदासीनमसक्तं तेषु कर्मसु || 9.9||

na cha māṁ tāni karmāṇi nibadhnanti dhanañjaya
udāsīna-vad āsīnam asaktaṁ teṣhu karmasu|| 9.9||

Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 9- Ver. 9:

None of these activities bound Me, O conqueror of wealth; I remain like a neutral observer, ever detached from these actions.

Explanation

Material energy does not have the ability to do anything on its own. God looks at the material energy and animates it when he wants to build the world. The key point to remember is that, while the process of creation is carried out by God’s will and inspiration, He is unaffected by the action of material energy. In His personality, He is ever-blissful and unaffected.

He is always engaged in His eternal, happy, spiritual activity, yet He has nothing to do with these material activities.” In the material operations of the created world, the Lord is always neutral. This is where neutrality is explained. He sits as if impartial, despite having complete control over every detail of matter.

The Lord is always neutral, despite the fact that He is involved in every aspect of life. He is not caught up in the material world’s dualities. To these dualities, he is transcendent. He is also unconcerned about the creation and destruction of this physical universe. The living entities acquire diverse shapes in various species of life based on their previous deeds, and the Lord does not intervene.

Verse & what we can learn

Ishvara cannot be contained in any one place or object in the universe. He also stated that we would have to wait a long time to see Ishvara. At this precise moment, Ishvara is accessible. What is lacking is the wisdom necessary to perceive Ishvara in all things.

The functioning of the universe is delegated by Ishvara to the Prakriti laws. He doesn’t become involved, and he doesn’t take credit for the birth, destruction, and survival of billions of beings throughout the universe. The lesson for us here is that karma yoga is a universal law that we should obey.

We, like Ishvara, should do our tasks with a spirit of vairagya, or detachment, knowing that everything is under the control of Prakriti. If we are concerned about who will be recognized for our activities, we will become enslaved, putting us further away from liberation.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the next verse Shri Krishna tells Arjuna What should we do with this knowledge to improve our vision towards the world?
