Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 10- Ver. 24:

Among the spiritual teachers, know me as Brihaspati the foremost, O Paartha. Among the military commanders I am Skanda, and among water bodies I am the ocean.

Explanation

In temples and households, a priest is responsible for executing ceremonial worship and ceremonies. Brihaspati is heaven’s chief priest. As a result, he is the most powerful of all priests. Shree Krishna declares that he is Brihaspati among priests.

What’s the difference between the two places where he’s different? This suggests that we should value the opulence of God manifested in the object rather than the object itself. All of the items of splendour that Shree Krishna describes should be viewed in the same light. It is God’s magnificence showing in the object that is being emphasised, not the object itself.

The celestial gods’ commander-in-chief is Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva, who is also known as Skanda. As a result, he is the most powerful of all military leaders and best portrays God’s splendour. Shree Krishna goes on to declare that he is the grave and mighty ocean among sluggish sources of water.

Verse & what we can learn

According to Shri Krishna, Ishvara is manifested as Brihaspati, who is the foremost among the spiritual masters and deity priests. Shri Krishna then claims that Ishvara is manifested through Skanda, the world’s most powerful army commander. Lord Shiva’s son, Skanda, is also known as Kaartikeya. The ocean is home to thousands of species and nourishes life on the planet. One of Ishvara’s most potent manifestations is the huge and awe-inspiring ocean.
