A Happier Morning in Paris
It’s another day in Paris, normal, busy, people traveling in a metro waiting for their destination to come, immersed in their own thoughts. A young, vibrant man enters the train. With a music box in hand and a mic. He enters greets everyone with an honest and sincere smile, interacts with them, and plays a dancing number Ra Ra Rasputin … starts dancing and asks people to join.
When he addresses them, people in the train of different age groups and from different backgrounds give him a skeptical look. Of course, why would anyone in this time of “selfish motives and hidden agendas” think of making others happy and bringing a smile to their face? But as the song plays on, people start to smile, clap and start to dance.
For a couple of minutes, everyone comes out of their serious individual worlds, smile and share a lighter moment. The entire atmosphere of the place changes to a happy and positive side. After a few stages the young man gets out of the train with his music box thanking everyone and when he leaves everyone claps for him with a smile on their face, waving him goodbye. Perhaps this person will stay in their hearts forever, though it was for a moment or two, that he was there with them.
What did he want? Just to bring back a smile on their face, Only God knows what each one of those persons must me going through in their life at that moment. But definitely, he must have left an impact on them made them think to better their lives or at least gave them a moment of happiness. Is this not service? Does one need big names, crores of funds, photos, publicity and show business to bring a smile to someone’s face and make their life better?
This is a time when people do a “sand grain” size of service and do mountain-worth publicity. It’s time we learn something from such people, when we have a sincere desire in our heart to better someone’s life that’s enough. You may mean nothing to them but leave a life-changing impact on that person. It’s what your intentions are at heart, for the other person that matters, and radiate that positive vibes to others as well.
Faith in humans and humanity is restored when we see such people and instances. There are people around you and around me that are making a difference in other people’s lives, maybe with a kind word, gesture, or a soothing smile. There are many more compassionate hearts working around the world in silence contributing positivity and uplifting humanity in many ways, no one knows them.
If you come across “one” appreciate them, encourage them. Be inspired by them and try to be a blessing in your own way to whomsoever you can, not necessarily humans, trees, animals, nature anything and everything. Because at the end of the day, how meaningful have you lived? How much impact you had on others’ lives in a positive sense?
That is what makes life “Life”
