Finnair Introduces Refreshed Winter–Spring Onboard Menus Across European and Long-Haul Flights

New Delhi, Feb 23: Finnair has unveiled its refreshed winter–spring onboard menus, further enhancing the inflight dining experience across its European and long-haul network. Available on flights departing from Helsinki from 28 January 2026 through 19 May 2026, the updated menus bring a seasonally inspired Nordic culinary experience to passengers worldwide.

With direct connectivity between Helsinki and Delhi, Indian travellers can seamlessly access Finnair’s evolving onboard dining experience as part of their journey to Northern Europe and beyond.

Celebrating Finnish Culinary Traditions

The new menus draw inspiration from Finland’s rich culinary heritage, shaped by centuries of food preservation practices developed to endure long winters. Techniques such as curing, pickling, and fermenting continue to influence contemporary Finnish gastronomy.

This heritage is reflected in dishes such as orange and anise seasoned gravlax, pickled red onion accompaniments, and cold-smoked salmon preparations—offering a balance of freshness, depth, and subtle flavour that defines Nordic cuisine.

Seasonal Flavours Take Centre Stage

A defining element of the refreshed menu is the prominent use of blackcurrant, a flavour deeply rooted in Nordic gastronomy. In long-haul Business Class, blackcurrant features thoughtfully across savoury and dessert offerings, creating a cohesive seasonal narrative.

Highlights include blackcurrant gelée paired with gravlax, blackcurrant sauce accompanying slow-cooked lamb shoulder, and desserts such as blackcurrant posset—showcasing Finnair’s commitment to culinary storytelling at 30,000 feet.

Elevated Dining in Business Class

In Business Class on long-haul flights, passengers can enjoy a refined multi-course dining service reflecting both seasonality and route dynamics. The menu blends Nordic-inspired dishes with regionally influenced options to cater to international travellers.

On select late-night departures, the service has been thoughtfully structured to include a lighter dining option followed by a more substantial brunch-style offering later in the flight.

Starters include options such as crayfish tartare and gravlax, while main courses feature slow-cooked lamb shoulder and fennel-seasoned salmon. Desserts range from indulgent chocolate brownies to blackcurrant-based creations, delivering a restaurant-style dining experience in the air.

Enhanced Flexibility Across Cabins

The refreshed dining programme extends to Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins, with updated menus focused on comfort, flavour, and passenger choice.

Premium Economy travellers can enjoy dishes such as grilled chicken fillet with tomato yoghurt sauce, lentil rice, green beans, and onions, followed by lighter meal services including herb omelettes. Across cabins, passengers have the flexibility to pre-select meals prior to departure, allowing for a more personalised inflight experience.

Curated Beverage Experience

Complementing the seasonal menus is an updated Business Class beverage programme featuring a curated selection of European wines alongside a distinctive Finnish dessert wine, reinforcing Finnair’s Nordic identity.

With this seasonal refresh, Finnair continues to elevate the overall travel experience by integrating culinary craftsmanship into its broader onboard offering—connecting passengers not only to destinations, but also to the flavours and traditions of Finland.
