From Patiala to Air Mobility: How Samsung Innovation Campus Helped a Young Woman Take Flight
Punjab, Aug 4: Growing up in Patiala, Renu Rani always looked up at aircraft with curiosity. That fascination eventually led her to study aerospace engineering, but like many young women aspiring to enter advanced technology fields, she wondered whether classroom learning alone would prepare her for the opportunities ahead.

Today, she is helping build the future of air mobility as a Web Developer at Vjaitra Air Mobility—a journey she says was shaped by the hands-on learning and industry mentorship she received through Samsung Innovation Campus.
While pursuing aerospace engineering at Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College, Renu worked on projects involving unmanned aerial vehicles , morphing wings and wind tunnel testing. Although she had a strong academic foundation, she wanted practical exposure to Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies that are increasingly transforming the aviation sector.
Seeking hands-on experience, Renu enrolled in Samsung Innovation Campus, Samsung‘s flagship future-tech skilling programme. Through project-based AI learning, expert mentorship and practical assignments, she strengthened her technical capabilities, developed problem-solving skills and gained the confidence to pursue opportunities beyond the classroom.
Today, she applies those skills at Vjaitra Air Mobility while continuing to pursue her ambition of contributing to India’s growing aerospace and drone technology ecosystem.
“Samsung Innovation Campus gave me wings when I was afraid to fly. It showed me that technology is driven by passion, curiosity and hard work—not by gender. The programme gave me the confidence to believe in my abilities and pursue opportunities I once thought were beyond my reach,” said Renu Rani.
Renu’s story is part of a wider movement of young women embracing careers in technology through Samsung Innovation Campus. In neighbouring Haryana, Lavisha Arora from Ambala credits the programme with helping transform her curiosity for Artificial Intelligence into industry-ready skills. While pursuing an MCA in Data Science, she gained practical experience through real-world AI projects and mentorship that helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations. Today, she works in IT Support at ICICI Bank.
“Samsung Innovation Campus didn’t just teach me how to write code—it taught me how to think like a problem-solver. The hands-on learning and mentorship gave me the confidence to turn my curiosity for Artificial Intelligence into industry-ready skills and pursue a career in technology,” said Lavisha Arora.
Implemented in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India and the Telecom Sector Skill Council under the National Skill Development Corporation , Samsung Innovation Campus equips young people with industry-relevant skills in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies while supporting the vision of Skill India and Digital India.
Since its launch, Samsung Innovation Campus has trained more than 26,500 young people across India, including more than 1,000 learners in Punjab, helping bridge the gap between education and industry while encouraging more women to pursue careers in technology.
As Samsung celebrates 30 years in India, stories like those of Renu and Lavisha reflect how access to practical skills, industry mentorship and real-world learning can help more young women transform ambition into opportunity. Through Samsung Innovation Campus, Samsung continues to equip India’s next generation with the confidence and capabilities to build careers in AI and emerging technologies.
