Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 5- Ver. 25:

Those holy people who have been cleansed of their sins, have no doubts, have disciplined minds, and are dedicated to the welfare of all beings achieve God and are freed from material existence.

Explanation

He depicts the position of the sages who are actively involved in the welfare of all beings in this verse. Spiritual wellbeing seeks to restore the soul’s God-consciousness, which absense is at the basis of all material misery. As a result, the highest kind of welfare is to assist someone in uniting their consciousness with God. This is the type of charitable work that exalted spirits with pure minds do. Such charitable work attracts God’s grace even more, elevating them even further on the path. Finally, after they have perfected their surrender to God and accomplished total mental cleansing, they are freed to the spiritual realm and the divine Abode.

A “rishi,” or one who has knowledge of the eternal essence, is a liberated seeker who has established himself in the eternal essence. A rishi continuously employs knowledge and discrimination and knows the difference between the true and the unreal. According to this shloka, such a rishi is free of all flaws, doubts, has total self-control, and is engaged in the welfare of all beings.

Ignorance is the root or primary mental impurity, manifesting as a desire for worldly pleasures. Ignorance is the foundation upon which all impurities are built. We cleanse ourselves of all mental pollutants through karmayoga. The rishi is without any doubts about who he truly is. It also implies that it is devoid of any conceptions of duality.

Verse & what we can learn

One who has freed himself from all mental impurities, is free from all doubts regarding who is really is, free of all notions of duality. Has complete self control, over his mind and senses and is always engaged in the welfare of all. It means that he is always in a state of total non-violence. He sees no distinction between himself, one person and another person, such person is fit to attain liberation.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.
