Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 6- Ver. 40:

The Supreme Lord said: Parth, those who follow the spiritual path do not face destruction in this world or in the world to come. One who strives for God-realization, my dear friend, is never overcome by evil.

Explanation

The Guru treats his disciple as if he were his father, and as a result, the Guru sometimes refers to the disciple as son. Shree Krishna is demonstrating his love and grace for Arjun to show that God looks after those who walk in his footsteps. They are beloved by God because they engage in the most blessed of activities, and “the doer of good never comes to sorrow.” This scripture claims that God will protect the devotee both in this world and the next. This statement provides great comfort to all spiritual seekers.

Arjuna had enquired about what happens to a meditator who does not achieve perfection before dying. Shri Krishna responds emphatically, stating definitely that the meditator will experience neither pain or distress while in this or any other world. He will, in reality, achieve a higher position, both materially and spiritually.

The meaning of Shri Krishna’s statements must be carefully deciphered. He is not claiming that the meditator will achieve material success as a result of his meditation. Wealth, power, and fame are the common measures of success in our world, but none of these things are guaranteed as a result of meditation. Shri Krishna wants us to realise that anyone who practices meditation with sincerity will develop dispassion for wealth, power, and fame. He is unconcerned whether he achieves financial success or not. As a result, a lack of material achievement will not bother him.

However, this does not imply that the meditator achieves a pitiful condition. In truth, the seeker will be in tune and in harmony with the world if they really practise mediation. The world will thereafter take care of all of the seeker’s need.
