Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 6- Ver. 4:

When one has rejected all expectations and does not find attachment in sense objects and activities, one is said to have established oneself in yoga.

Explanation

When a person no longer craves sense things or is motivated to take any steps to obtain them, they are said to be disconnected from the world. Such a person stops looking for ways to create situations in which to enjoy sensual pleasures, finally abandoning all ideas of enjoying sense objects and erasing memories of earlier joys. At the urging of the senses, the mind no longer gushes into self-centered activity. We will be regarded elevated in Yoga when we acquire this level of mental mastery.

As we gain insight via contemplation, our sankalpa, or need to act in order to gain objects, reduces. We become established in dhyaana yoga, when this wisdom dawns and we let go of our attachment to activity and objects. In other words, we gain the ability to meditate.

Verse & what we can learn

Lack of self-sufficiency causes attachment. Detachment entails having no regard for the world and all it has to offer yet still behaving with enthusiasm, zeal, and passion. Desire causes mental discomfort and stress. And desire knows no bounds. The more you have, the more you want.

As a result, someone who has learned yoga has control over all three processes. He has no worth in the world since he has achieved paripurna, or entire and full fulfillment within himself. As a result, the fire of desire has stopped to run.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the Next verse, Shri Krishna tells Arjuna about mind.
