Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 6- Ver. 39:
Only you, O Krishna, are worthy of dispelling my doubt. No one else is capable of dispelling this doubt except you.
Explanation
Ignorance breeds doubts, and knowledge breeds the ability to dismiss doubts. Theoretical understanding of the scriptures is insufficient to alleviate doubts, because the scriptures include numerous apparent conflicts that can only be resolved by realisation. God-realized Saints do have some realised knowledge, but it is restricted. Although such realised Saints have the ability to dispel doubts, they cannot compete with God, who is all-knowing. Because God is omniscient and all-powerful he is supremely capable of erasing all ignorance.
By this time, Arjuna had realised that Shri Krishna was more than just his charioteer and friend. Shri Krishna even refers to himself as Ishvara in various shlokas. Only Ishvara, who is beyond the material world, can respond to a query that transcends the material world. As a result, Arjuna thought it appropriate to ask Shri Krishna such a question.
