अहं हि सर्वयज्ञानां भोक्ता च प्रभुरेव च |

ahaṁ hi sarva-yajñānāṁ bhoktā cha prabhureva cha
na tu mām abhijānanti tattvenātaśh chyavanti te|| 9.24||

Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 9- Ver. 24:

Because I am both the recipient and the lord of all sacrificial ceremonies, they have no idea who I am. That’s why they fall.

Explanation

The disadvantage of worshipping the celestial gods is now explained by Shree Krishna. They have the potential to provide material benefits due to the abilities conferred upon them by the Supreme Lord, but they cannot free their devotees from the cycle of life and death.

They can only give to others what they already have. How can the celestial gods save their adherents from samsara if they are not free from it themselves? Those with adequate insight, on the other hand, devote their full reverence to God Himself, and when their devotion reaches perfection, they transcend the world of humans to the holy Abode.

Verse & what we can learn

When we act in this world, we must always remember that Ishvara is the intended recipient of our actions. Whatever we do we should remember that ultimately Ishwara is the recepient. Our ego will be reduced as a result of this.

We experience emotions like pride, greed, and envy when we believe we possess something or crave something that belongs to someone else. Knowing that Ishvara is the ultimate owner of everything lowers our sense of attachment and “mine-ness.” Ego and attachment are significant roadblocks on the path to liberation, but this wisdom removes them.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the next verse Shri Krishna tells Arjuna What is the fate of such faulty worship?
