Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 9- Ver. 2:

This is the most profound of all mysteries, and it is the monarch of sciences. Those who hear it are purified. It is directly attainable, dharma-compliant, simple to practise, and has an eternal effect.

Explanation

He will hold the pinnacle of the information He will reveal. He never uses the words “creed,” “religion,” “dogma,” “doctrine,” or “belief” to describe His teachings. He asserts that the king of sciences is what He is about to describe to Arjuna. This understanding is also the ultimate secret. Because love can only exist when there is a choice, God purposefully shields Himself from direct perception, allowing the soul to choose whether or not to love Him.
This understanding is also the ultimate secret. Because love can only exist when there is a choice, God purposefully shields Himself from direct perception, allowing the soul to choose whether or not to love Him. God wants us to love Him, so He allows us to choose whether or not to love Him. He just informs us of the implications of our choices, both positive and negative, and then allows us to select our own course.

Because it is free of petty greed, devoted knowledge is supremely pure. It motivates self-sacrifice on the altar of heavenly love for the Supreme Lord. Bhakti purifies the devotee as well. Bhakti cleanses the heart and eliminates the sin seeds of desire, anger, and greed. Even the destruction of the seeds, however, is insufficient. What causes the heart to become impure? We mistake the body for the self as a result of this misidentification, and we establish bodily wants in the belief that they will bring enjoyment to the self. The satisfaction of such material impulses leads to lust, wrath, greed, and all other heart sins. Even if the heart is cleansed, as long as ignorance exists, it will continue to exist.

Devotion eventually leads to realised awareness of the soul and God, which destroys material existence’s ignorance. Bhakti is a science that starts with a leap of faith and ends with direct perception of God. It’s similar to how other sciences do experiments, where we start with a hypothesis and end with a validated outcome. The most virtuous activity is devotion conducted without a desire for material gain. It is continuously fostered by good deeds such as Guru service. God does not require anything from us; if we can grow to love Him, we will naturally find Him.

Verse & what we can learn

This knowledge is the most important of all knowledge; it is the most important of all knowledge. The majority of the knowledge we learn in our lives is material and transient. The absolute knowledge is described in this chapter. We will become kings as a result of this knowledge. We shall never be slaves to anyone or anything, including our own minds, bodies, or senses.

The king of secrets is this understanding. Ordinary secrets can provide us with happiness, prosperity, power, a competitive advantage, and other benefits, but they are all fleeting and finite. This secret, on the other hand, yields endless, infinite delight.

Purification ceremonies are described in many scriptures. They assist us in purging our sins. However, because it eliminates the sinner, the main cause, this understanding is the ultimate purifier. Our ego, as we’ve seen, develops a sense of doership and enjoyership, which leads to the accumulation of merits and crimes. However, if we lose our sense of doership, all of our activities will be spontaneous and in accordance with Ishvara’s intent. Our sins’ storeroom will be consumed by fire. There will also be no merits or awards to accumulate.

This understanding is in line with dharma, the universal law that holds everything together. This understanding is consistent with universal law. It is true at any given time and in any location on the globe. Furthermore, it will always result in happiness, never in sadness.

Finally, this information is simple to apply; it does not necessitate any particular qualities other than dedication and trust on the part of the person. While most things that require minimal work only provide fleeting satisfaction, this understanding provides permanent, eternal delight.

To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.

There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.

In the next verse Shri Krishna tells Arjuna the fate of those who do not accept this teaching after providing a full account of the attributes of this royal wisdom.
