Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 9- Ver. 1:
Because you are not envious of Me, O Arjun, I will now disclose to you this highly confidential knowledge and wisdom, upon which you will be liberated from the afflictions of material existence.
Explanation
He informs Arjun that He is sharing this information with him since Arjun is not envious of Him. Because God is going to glorify Himself excessively here, Lord Krishna clarifies this. “One who does not ridicule” is another meaning of Anasyave. Listeners who ridicule Shree Krishna because they feel He boasts will be unaffected by such a message. Instead, they will do harm to themselves by thinking, “Look at this egotistical individual.” He is extolling the virtues of His own being.”
The Guru is the only way to God. The envious, on the other hand, do not see the compassion behind these comments and equate them to arrogance. Arjun is excellently equipped for the profound wisdom that Shree Krishna will impart in this chapter because he is generous and free of the flaw of envy.
The only road to God is through the Guru. The envious, on the other hand, miss the compassion behind these remarks and mistakenly associate them with arrogance. Because he is generous and free of the defect of envy, Arjun is well-suited for the profound insight that Shree Krishna will teach in this chapter.
Verse & what we can learn
Shri Krishna is glorifying knowledge in this shloka as a result of it. It will provide us with independence or emancipation from the unfavourable. In this shloka, the word inauspicious relates the everlasting cycle of creation and dissolution in which we are all caught. He will disclose not only information, but also wisdom, which we might apply in our daily life. Furthermore, unlike other information that takes action to produce a consequence, this knowledge produces liberation on its own.
This knowledge is even more unique because it is so subtle. It is difficult to figure out on one’s own. We require a capable instructor, such as Shri Krishna, to impart this information to you. Shri Krishna refers to this information as “hidden knowledge,” and urges us to learn it properly through a teacher.
To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.
There are various types of meditation like Buddhist meditation, heartfulness meditation, mindfulness meditation, meditation for stress, and each meditation benefits are countless. There are also numerous meditation techniques for beginners which help in practicing daily meditation so go ahead and start your journey towards a peaceful and balanced life.
In the next verse Shri Krishna tells Arjuna this particular understanding even further.
