The Divine Contains Within Himself, The Entire Universe And The Past Present And Future Of Everything And Everyone
इहैकस्थं जगत्कृत्स्नं पश्याद्य सचराचरम् |
मम देहे गुडाकेश यच्चान्यद्द्रष्टुमिच्छसि || 11.7||
ihaika-sthaṁ jagat kṛitsnaṁ paśhyādya sa-charācharam
mama dehe guḍākeśha yach chānyad draṣhṭum ichchhasi||11.7||
Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 11- Ver. 7:
Look around you and see the entire universe, both moving and non-moving (entities), all in one place. Apart from that, O Gudaakesha, see whatever you want in my form.
Explanation
Arjuna wonders where he might view Shree Krishna’s form after hearing Shree Krishna’s directions. As a result, Shree Krishna claims that it is contained within the Supreme Divine Personality’s body. He will perceive an unlimited number of universes, each with its own set of moving and non-moving creatures. Every creature, as well as past and future occurrences, exists in the universal form. As a result, Arjun will be able to see the Pandavas’ victory and the Kauravas’ fall as a part of the unfolding of the cosmic plan for the universe.
Verse & what we can learn
Shri Krishna emphasises the power of the Vishwa roopa or cosmic form by utilising the phrases “now” and “in one spot.” Without leaving his chariot, Arjuna can see the entire universe in one place. He can also see events that take millions of years in a fraction of a second. Everything is included, including both moving and stationary creatures.
Shri Krishna predicted that the conclusion of the Mahabharata war would be seen in his cosmic form, knowing that Arjuna was most interested in it. He calls Arjuna “Gudaakesha,” meaning “one who has conquered sleep,” in order for Arjuna to stay awake while witnessing the cosmic form.
To acquire knowledge and to implement that knowledge in life one needs to be mentally and physically active and healthy and for that daily meditation is a great tool.
