Shloka Translation
BG – Ch. 11- Ver. 3:

It’s the same as what you’ve spoken about yourself, O supreme Ishvara. O greatest being, I’d like to glimpse your glorious form.

Explanation

Arjun refers to Shree Krishna as “the best person” because no one else compares to him. Scholars frequently find it difficult to embrace the concept of God as a person. They want to see God as nothing more than an impersonal light devoid of traits, virtues, qualities, and pleasures.

But why should we deny the Supreme Lord a personality when we, the tiniest of souls, have one? He is the Supreme Divine Personality because he not only has a personality, but he also has the best personality. The distinction between our personalities and God’s is that he is not only a perfect person, but he also possesses an impersonal, all-pervading aspect that is devoid of traits and form.

Arjun proclaims that he acknowledges the holy personality of Shree Krishna as it has been described to him. He believes in his personal form completely, but he longs to behold Shree Krishna’s vihwarupa, which is opulent in every way. He would like to see it for himself.

Verse & what we can learn

At this point, Arjuna’s fascination with Shri Krishna had reached a pinnacle. That is why he asked Shri Krishna, who was Ishvara’s “avatar” or incarnation, to show his holy appearance, which was stated in the preceding chapter’s concluding shloka. What a glorious form it would be if merely a fraction of Ishvara could support the entire cosmos, and if all of the divine expressions were included in Ishvara. Arjuna wanted to see how everything originated, existed, and disintegrated within Ishvara, and how everything was Ishvara in essence, in addition to the majesty and grandeur of this form.

When anything possesses the qualities of knowledge, dominion, power, prowess, and brilliance, we call it divine. Arjuna requested that Shri Krishna show him that form in which it is possible to see multiple visions in one. The true Arjuna, on the other hand, did not give the order for Shri Krishna to take that form. He qualified his plea with humility.
